CROSSCURRENTS: A Concert by Denis Kucherov, Kailash Kokopelli, Rajib Karmakar and Amadou Fall

CROSSCURRENTS is built on the foundational duo of tabla virtuoso Denis Kucherov and brilliant kora maestro Amadou (Senegal), joined for this performance by a multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter and producer Kailash Kokopelli, who offers his instruments as prayer tools and keys to initiate self-healing processes. His mystic songs and medicine chants expand perception and unlock the doors to commune with Source. Extraordinarily gifted sitar player Rajib Karmakar is an instrumentalist with a unique musical sensibility and innovative skills. Both at his Indian Classical Music Concerts and his World Music Concerts, he can almost immediately mesmerize the audience of all ages.

Denis Kucherov is one of the finest Indian traditional music performers in Eastern Europe. Denis has spent over 15 years in India studying with best musicians of the country. During his stay in India, Denis performed at the biggest International Yoga festival in Rishikesh and at the most important music venues. Nowdays Denis gives concerts all over the world, and his audience gets a chance to experience the atmosphere of ancient India, with its joyful abandon and mystical ecstasy.

 

Kailash Kokopelli is a sound therapist, artist and inner world musician. As a multi-instrumentalist, composer, songwriter and producer he is an internationally requested studio- and guest musician playing a great variety of wind instruments ranging from Didgeridoo to Native American Flutes, as well as reed instruments, percussive soundscapes, drums, crystal singing bowls, string instruments and vocals. 

 

Amadou Fall, a virtuoso musician born in Senegal, Amadou has been playing Kora for 20 years now and has performed with various artists such as Baba Maal, Fatou Lowbe, Ibrahim Ba, Djembe Rhythm and Irene Tassambendo and many others. He has played extensively on the African continent, in France, Belgium, Italy, Hungary. Amadou Fall currently resides in California where he hopes to bring people from all walks of life together in peace with music from Africa, all through the breath-taking sounds of his Kora

 

Rajib Karmakar is one of the finest young sitar players, the creator of the world’s first double necked electric Sitar ”Mayur Tantri” . His concerts are distinguished by their aesthetic appeal and improvisation blended with a fine command of technical expertise. He has performed all over the world, in prestigious music concerts and festivals. Rajib’s versatility has ably adapted his classical knowledge and skill in his fusion projects like Wahh(USA), Fuzorhythm(India), Loop Science(Germany), Nada Naissance(France) etc.
