Meditative Art Creation

March 13-14, 2017

Moscow, Russia

Budart Project was launched at the first “Meditative Art Creation”, an art retreat and a reality show featuring professional artists, musicians and meditators. We wanted to show how meditative art is born, who are the people behind it, and how meditation can be used to enrich creative process.

CREATING

In a matter of two days, our participants created over twenty magnificent artworks – pure, authentic, and sublime. The artists were working in different styles: impressionism, positive abstractionism, intuitive painting, expressionism, etc. They were using oil, acrylic, and pastel. Besides paintings, we witnessed the creation of sculpture, batik and graphic works. But all these art pieces have at least one thing in common: they are gateways into the meditation of their makers and as such they allow the viewer to feel the same quietness, stillness, and silence of mind the artist was experiencing in the process of making them.

The two days of the art retreat were videotaped by a professional film-crew. And the resulting film was shown at Budart Festival in Los Angeles, on September 17th 2017, where it was received enthusiastically by art-lovers and professionals alike.

COMMUNITY

Meditative Art Creation gave birth to a vibrant and constantly expanding community, a community of friends and like-minded people, who take delight in their art – enjoying, celebrating, marveling it. People who want to give more than receive, who feel best knowing that today they made someone’s life better, today they reduced suffering and gave hope.

Together we want to create art that helps people and inspires them. Art that promotes goodness, love, peace, happiness, and joy. Art that can never hurt.

There is a long and exciting journey lying ahead, but it is so much fun to walk together!
